Submission is often described from the outside as absence: less agency, less voice, less self. Consensual submission can instead be an active decision about where trust, structure, and intensity are welcome.

A role does not erase the person holding it. Preferences remain specific. Boundaries remain binding. A no does not become less important because a yes was enthusiastic five minutes earlier.

The useful distinction is between choosing to yield and being trained to disappear. One expands a negotiated experience. The other shrinks a life.
